Alumni: Be an Arts Leader!

From the Top is mapping powerful stories of musicians giving back across the country. As an alum, you have the power to make a difference in people’s lives by sharing your talent, creativity and passion. If you were inspired by any of the stories you saw in the Arts Leadership Orientation and want to start your own project, you're in the right place!

Create your own Arts Leadership project - From the Top can help:

  • Brainstorm ideas
  • Connect you to resources & alumni who’ve done similar projects
  • In creating an action plan to make your vision a reality
  • Share your story on our website and in future orientations to inspire others!

Here’s what some other From the Top performers have done:

  • Pianist Leeza Ali began a concert series with her sisters to raise money for schools in Afghanistan – they’ve already raised thousands and plan to keep going
  • Composer Tim Woos used “the composing game” in workshops he led at two elementary schools to introduce kids to the composition process
  • Pianist Phuong Nghi Pham wrote a letter to her school district’s superintendent about the importance of music education and the difference it’s made in her life
  • Violist Isabella Markham organized a concert titled Bellapalooza to bring music and joy to the residents of a local retirement home
  • Pianist Jennifer Tu created the Young Pianists Club at her high school to give fellow pianists a way to connect and learn from each other
  • Clarinetist Perry Choi founded the program Keeping Music Alive to provide free instruments and lessons for local elementary students

Are you already doing something to make a difference? We would love to hear about it and share on our Arts Leadership Map! Email Anne Gregory at agregory@fromthetop.org.
