The CDAL team is designing music events to create a variety of performances and other activities that involve residents and create community within an atmosphere of healing.
Conservatory Lab Charter School, Brighton
The CDAL team is helping with after school group instruction, and assisting in laying the foundation for an outreach effort that will establish another city as an El Sistema nucleo site.
Goddard House, Assisted Living, Brookline
The CDAL team is using music as a means to engage residents who may be struggling with memory loss. The young musicians are also developing a project that combines stories and music to create bridges between the residents and service staff, who come from different racial, economic and language backgrounds.
MusiConnects (Boston Public Quartet) at Chittick Elementary School, Mattapan
This CDAL team is working with MusiConnects to create interest and opportunities for kids to be engaged in a collaborative music experience and to support their ongoing participation. The team is also helping with outreach to develop deeper connections to the surrounding community.
Roland Hayes School of Music, Roxbury
The Roland Hayes School is a wonderful resource, but scarcely known within the Boston Public School system. The CDAL team has planned a program to build an audience for the school's annual concert series and to raise awareness about the school as a city-wide resource for Boston students.
