JeeHae Ahn and Gergana Haralampieva Reach the Hearts and Minds of Norwood Residents Through Music
16-year-old violinist Gergana Haralmpieva and 18 year-old pianist JeeHae Ahn hoped to share their love of music through a joint recital.
What: A joint recital, open to the public, at the First Congressional Church of Norwood, MA
When: October 10, 2010
How: JeeHae and Gergana shared brief introductions for each piece as well as some of their own musical experiences, including their appearances on From the Top. They had chosen to perform in a joint recital while both were still students at the Walnut Hill School in spring 2010. After choosing their program repertoire, the two created a script to describe the pieces to the audience and share some of their own stories. They chose the church based on its acoustics and ability to accommodate a large audience.
“Although we came from different cultures, had different backgrounds and ideals, and spoke different languages, all of the audience and the performers came together as a whole in the presence of music.” – JeeHae
“Music is a wonderful life-changing experience, and I hope our audience took that away from our performance.” – Gergana
