Young performers to be featured on the broadcast taping include the 93 members of the Vermont Youth Orchestra (VYO) under the direction of Andrew Massey. The orchestra will perform III. Ritmico Con Brio from Concerto for Percussion and Orchestra by Joseph Schwantner with soloist percussionist Nicholas Bonaccio, from Shelburne, a senior at Rice Memorial High School. Also included is VYO member and composer Timothy Woos, 17, from New Haven, VT who will play his original composition Suite for Bassoon Quartet with three bassoonists from Maine -- Debra Egan, 16, from East Waterboro; Emily Olmstead, 16 from Westbrook and Emma Shapiro, 17 from North Waterboro. 18-year-old pianist JeeHae Ahn from Seoul Korea, currently studying at the Walnut Hill School in Natick, MA and 11-year-old cellist Leland Ko from Weston, MA performing I. Adagio cantabile and II. Allegro vivo from Sonata in E Major by François Francoeur will also be featured.

The taping will also feature an appearance by past From the Top performer soprano Nadine Sierra. Nadine first appeared on From the Top in 2004 at age 15. Now 21, she is a senior at Mannes College of Music in New York and a 2009 winner of the Metropolitan Opera's National Council Auditions. Her appearance is part of a series of alumni spotlights that are airing over the course of From the Top's 10th Anniversary Season.
