Each year, students across the country experience intimate classroom visits led by From the Top performers through our national tour of live events, and long-term residency programs in markets as diverse as Boston, Iowa, Hawaii, and Newark.
From the Top in the Community: On the Road and at Home
In conjunction with broadcast tapings, From the Top conducts school and community performances in up to 20 communities across the country, leveraging the power of young performers as role models for other students.

At home in Boston, we have organized a core group of local alumni, the Boston Crew, who receive arts leadership training and opportunities to share their music and stories with students across Massachusetts.
Key Programs
From the Top has teamed up with Orchestra Iowa (formerly Cedar Rapids Symphony Orchestra) to celebrate the excitement and joy of kids making classical music through Iowa Makes Music, a multi-faceted residency funded by the United States Department of Education.
Turn it UP!
Through the generous support of the Wallace Foundation, From the Top is working in three Boston Public Elementary Schools to enhance instrumental music programs and encourage student participation and skill-building in music.
Hawaii
From the Top is partnering with Hawaii Public Radio through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education to bring the power, joy and excitement of classical music to Hawaii’s children and youth in January 2010.
Young Audiences New Jersey
Through a generous grant from the Prudential Foundation, From the Top is working with Young Audiences New Jersey to bring classical music into Newark public schools.
