Show 209 | Waimea, Hawaii

Recorded: Wednesday, January 20, 2010

This week, from the Kahilu Theater in Kamuela, Hawaii, our line-up of outstanding performers includes a 15-year-old violinist performing the fiery Sonatensatz by Brahms and a young pianist from Hawaii performing music written to conjure up a wild snow storm – even though she herself has never experienced so much as a flurry.

Honoring Great Music Teachers: During this episode we are honoring music teachers Ellen Masaki and Gary Washburn. Tell us about a music teacher that has made a difference in your life. We'll feature some of our favorite entries on our Green Room blog. Send an email to enewlsetter@fromthetop.org with subject line "music teacher".
