CDAL Boston: Year-Long Arts Leadership Program | Class of 2011
"This program is a great opportunity to be inspired through changing people’s lives. You walk into the picture thinking 'what can I do to help others' and you walk away feeling like you helped yourself." – Clifton Williams, Class of 2011 Arts Leader
From the Top’s first class of arts leaders and mentors came from a wide range of backgrounds. Over the 12 month program they participated in regular leadership retreats and worked in teams to design and implement service projects at five Boston area community sites: AstraZeneca Hope Lodge in Jamaica Plain, Conservatory Lab in Brighton, Goddard House Assisted Living in Brookline, musiConnects at Chittick Elementary School in Mattapan, and Roland Hayes School of Music in Roxbury. Collectively the arts leaders reached hundreds of school children, elderly, and cancer patients.
The arts leaders showcased their work and learning at a public exhibition on Saturday, January 21, 2012.
Major funding for the CDAL Year-Long Intensive Arts Leadership Program is provided by the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation. Additional support comes from the Boston Foundation, Hunt Alternatives Fund, the Harold Whitworth Pierce Charitable Trust, and the Wallace Foundation.
