Meet Julia

JULIA COHEN, mezzo-soprano, a Presidential Scholar and student of Ms. Jane Eaglen at the New England Conservatory, is excited to be performing with this wonderful and talented group of musicians. As a student of Mr. Giuseppe Spolitini at the Manhattan School of Music Pre-college Program for the last four years, she was the recipient of the prestigious International George London Scholarship (twice) and the Donald Read and Carl Owen Scholarships. Julia played the lead role of Ada in the one-act opera Enchantress by Kamala Sankaram, at MSM. She has studied at the Chautauqua Voice Institute and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, where she was the first student ever chosen to perform a solo aria in the Honors Recital at Ozawa Hall. Julia is an NPR From the Top Finalist.  She is an avid performer in the regional 90 Miles Off Broadway Theater Company, and has played the lead roles of Jo March in Little Women, Jane Eyre in Jane Eyre, the Musical, and Katrin Hanson in I Remember Mama. She loves to dance, do yoga, play tennis, and hike.  She is excited to explore the Boston area and share her joy of music with others.
