Meet Martine

Martine Thomas appeared on Show 293, recorded in July 2014, at age 17.

MARTINE THOMAS, 19, is a sophomore violist in the Harvard-NEC Dual Degree Program where she studies with Martha Katz. She is currently a member of From the Top’s Center for the Development for Arts Leaders, the Brattle Street Chamber Players, and is active in chamber music. Martine has performed with Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble, on NPR’s show From the Top, and as a member of Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra of the USA in China (2015), the U.S. (2014), Russia and London (2013). She has worked with Heidi Castleman, Roberto Diaz, Paul Coletti, George Taylor, Michelle LaCourse, the Ying Quartet, and the Parker Quartet. Outside the concert hall, Martine enjoys performing on the streets and in community venues.

Martine is the winner of the 2017-2018 Bach Society Orchestra Concerto Competition Winner.
