Leadership Orientations & Opportunities
Arts Leadership Orientations
All From the Top performers participate in an Arts Leadership Orientation the morning following the show. During this 3-hour session, performers explore the power of music to inspire and create change, and are introduced to:
- Inspiring examples of arts leadership by From the Top alumni
- Their unique pathways and potential as arts leaders
- A range of opportunities that they might consider in their home communities

A From the Top network of support and materials is available to all performers to help them develop their own interests and projects once they return home. Examples of past projects include interactive performances in schools, retirement homes, and community centers; fundraising campaigns and benefit concerts; and writing letters to local politicians in support of arts funding in schools. Check out our arts leadership map to read about these efforts.
From the Top can customize an arts leadership orientation to suit the specific needs of your organization and audience. Recent partners in Boston have included the Boston Children’s Chorus and Boston Arts Academy (BAA).

Outreach Opportunities
At every From the Top taping, performers are invited to share their music, experiences, and related passions in schools and/or a variety of community settings.

Host an Arts Leader
After their participation in the radio taping and orientation, many From the Top performers are inspired to share their artistry and experiences with new audiences in their home communities. These have included schools, hospitals, retirement communities, and many more.
If your school or organization is interested in hosting a From the Top performer, contact Johana Macdonald at jmacdonald@fromthetop.org. Short and long-term opportunities can be arranged.
