Recorded at New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall, today’s From the Top includes an extraordinary young violinist from Austin, Texas who’s turned pro and an outstanding pianist from Atlanta who performs Liszt. You’ll also meet an animated young soprano who has had several close brushes with show biz, and hear a wonderful solo bagpipe performance.

Pianist Roger Luo, 18, from Atlanta, GA, performs Sonetto del Petrarca, No. 104 by Franz Liszt

Pianist Christopher O’Riley performs Chorale Prelude (piano transcription of Bach by Alexander Siloti)

Soprano Chelsey Forbess, 17, from Beverly Hills, CA, performs The Serpent by Lee Hoiby

Cellist David Requiro, 17, from Natick, MA, performs Requiebros by Gaspar Cassado

Violinist Catlin Tully performs Massanet’s “Meditation” from Thais (closing of program)
