From the Allen Theater at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, home grown and international kids — ranging in age from nine to seventeen — dig into the classics, producing impressive performances of works by Shostakovich, Prokofiev and Barrios.

Cellist Gemma Nam, 17, from Seoul, Korea, performs I. Allegretto from Concerto No. 1 in E-flat major, Op. 107 by Dmitri Shostakovich

Violinist and Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Kenneth Renshaw, 14, from San Francisco, CA, performs Subito by Witold Lutoslawski

Guitarist Roberto Granados, 9, from Hayward, CA, performs “Andante religioso” and “Allegro solemne” from La Catedral by Agustín Barrios Mangoré

Flutist Tristan Plaut, 17, from Wolforth, TX, performs III. Allegro giocoso; quasi fandango from Sonatina by Eldin Burton
