Julian was recently announced as a finalist in the 2018 Johansen International Competition in Washington, DC. As the winner of the violin division, Julian was awarded the First Prize of $10,000! His quartet, Kairos String Quartet, also won 1st prize in the 2018 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition Junior String Division.

Julian Rhee (violin), 17, lives in Brookfield, Wisconsin where he is a senior at Brookfield East High School. Julian studies violin at the Music Institute of Chicago with Almita Vamos. His favorite musical experience was attending the Bowdoin International Music Festival. In addition to music, Julian enjoys basketball and table tennis, and dreams of being a sports announcer.
