Meet Karisa

Karisa, 17, performed on Show 334 as a soloist and as a member of the Calliope Trio in Boston, MA on March 12, 2017.

Karisa Chiu (violin), 17, is from Palatine, Illinois and is in the last year of her homeschool program. She is currently studying violin at the Music Institute of Chicago under the tutelage of Almita Vamos. Her most memorable musical experience was when she performed Felix Mendelssohn’s Octet in E-flat major, Op. 20 with members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra  – including her father – at the 2015 Music Institute of Chicago Gala. When she isn’t practicing or performing, Karisa enjoys makeup, painting, and drawing.
