Maia Hoffman appeared on Show 288, recorded in April 2014, at age 16.

Program Bio from Show 288:

Maia Hoffman (viola), 16, is from Portland, Oregon and attends Wilson High School. She is a recipient of From the Top’s Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award. Maia studies viola with Joël Belgique, Principal Violist of the Oregon Symphony Orchestra. She performs in the Portland Youth Philharmonic and the Camerata PYP, which is the chamber orchestra of the Portland Youth Philharmonic. Maia has attended the Indiana University Summer String Academy, Sound Encounters, and the North American Viola Institute. She teaches music lessons to younger students in the community through her orchestra’s peer mentor program. Outside of music, Maia enjoys telemark skiing on Palmer Glacier and traveling to the Oregon coast.
