Perry Choi (clarinet), 17, lives in Monterey, California where he attends the York School. He studies the clarinet with Erica Horn but also plays the piano, saxophone, and bass clarinet. Perry is a member of the San Jose Youth Symphony Philharmonic as well as the Youth Music Monterey Honors Orchestra. He has attended master classes with David Shifrin, Daniel Gilbert, Jerome Simas, and Ginger Barnetson. Perry is the recipient of From the Top’s Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award. In his free time, he enjoys participating in track and field and working on community service projects.
