Shundeena Beard (viola), 18, is a recipient of From the Top’s $10,000 Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award. A new resident of Omaha, Shundeena moved from Pittsburgh, PA where she was a member of the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra. Now a senior at Central High School, she plans to attend the Peabody Institute in the fall. Shundeena has previously appeared on the PBS television series From the Top at Carnegie Hall.
