Meet Steven

STEVEN AHN, 16, has been playing the violin since the age of five and studies with Lynn Chang at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School. He won several competitions including the Newton Symphony Concerto Competition, the Alexander and Buono String Competition, and the American Protege Concerto Competition, as well as being a prize winner in the NEC Concerto Competition, Quincy Symphony Concerto Competition, and the Young Promise International String Competition. Steven made his Carnegie Hall debut at the age of 11 and plans to perform again in December of 2015. As an active orchestra member, Steven is entering his fourth year in NEC’s Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. Aside from music, Steven enjoys playing sports, participating in the school’s varsity golf team and playing badminton competitively in a club.
