This week, From the Top is home at the New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall in Boston. We meet a cello trio comprised of students from the prestigious Walnut Hill School outside Boston, as well as a pianist from San Antonio, a violinist from St. Louis, and a soprano from California. Plus, we do everything we can help a young oboist from Pennsylvania improve her grade in physics.

Soprano Lauren Criddle, 17, from Calabasas, CA, performs “V’adoro, pupille” by George Frideric Handel

Pianist Christopher O’Riley performs “Babar the Elephant” by Francis Poulenc

The Walnut Hill Cello Trio (Matan Chorev, 17, from Brookline, MA; Marcus Johnson, 17, from Natick, MA; and Kee-Hyun Kim, 18, from Natick, MA) performs Requiem by David Popper

Pianist Nathaniel Hernandez, 17, of San Antonio, TX, performs Sonata No. 7, 1st mvt. by Sergei Prokofiev
