This week, From the Top welcomes the 2003 Junior Division winners of the Fischoff Competition, along with a 12 year-old pianist from California and a guitar player from Alabama. You’ll also hear the same Handel piece played by two very different instruments, and Christopher O’Riley will become a harpsichordist for a day!

Tuba player Joshua Shulman, 17, from Allison Park, PA, performs Sonata in C, Larghetto and Allegro by George Frideric Handel, accompanied by Christopher O’Riley on harpsichord

Pianist Christopher O’Riley performs “Lift” by Radiohead, arranged by O’Riley

Guitarist Robert Haraway, 15, from Tuscaloosa, AL, performs Prelude in E Major by Manuel Ponce

The Ottava String Trio (violinist Elenita Link, 18; violinist Joel Link, 14; and violist Alexander Link, 16) from Cartersville, GA, performs Serenade, 3rd mvt. by Zoltán Kodály

Guitarist Robert Haraway performs Afro-Cuban Lullaby (anon.) (closing of program)
