This week, From the Top comes to you from Charlotte, North Carolina, and welcomes special guest, New York Philharmonic principal oboist Joseph Robinson. You’ll hear a talented high school string quartet from the Atlanta area, which plays with “Oboe Joe” and sit in on a Master Class with a 17-year old oboist who visits Mr. Robinson’s musical neighborhood.

The Flint String Quartet (cellist David Huckaby, 17,from Lawrenceville, GA; violist Jessica Schiffman, 17, from Atlanta, GA; violinist David Edwards, 17, from Sugar Hill, GA; and violinist Mary Boland, 17, from Kennesaw, GA) performs Quartet in D minor, Op 76, No. 2 by Franz Joseph Haydn

Oboist Joseph Robinson and the Flint String Quartet perform Quintet in E Flat, Op. 21, No.6, 2nd mvt. by Luigi Boccherini

Pianist Sarara Momokawa, 15, of Winston-Salem, NC performs Goldberg Variations by Johann Sebastian Bach
