This week, from historic Mechanics Hall in Worcester, Massachusetts, a 16-year-old pianist performs lively etudes by John Harbison, a 13-year-old violinist plays Brahms, and a young woodwind quintet plays Hindemith. Also, a talented teen trumpeter performs a contemporary piece.

Pianist Andy Zhou, 16, from Andover, MA plays from Harbison’s Gatsby Etudes

Violinist Elizabeth Basoff-Darskaia, Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist, 13, from Philadelphia, PA plays Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 5

Cellist Patrick McGuire, 17, from Westford, MA performs the second movement the Cello Concerto in A minor, Op.129, by Robert Schumann

The Afinado Wind Quintet (Clarinetist John Diodati, 16, from Andover, MA; oboe player, Lauren Halyo, 16, from Williamsburg, Virginia; horn player Cynthia Simpson, 17, from Prattville, Alabama; flutist Priscilla Wadsworth,17, from West Blocton, Alabama; and bassoonist Matt Sachs,17, from Columbia, Maryland) play Hindemith’s Klein Kammermusik, Op. 24, No. 2
