Special Guests on From the Top This Spring!

Sir James Galway

We are pleased to announce three very special guest artists who will appear on upcoming radio shows!

Renowned flutist Sir James Galway will appear on From the Top in Athens, Georgia on Sunday, Feburary 27. He will perform the second movement from Sonata, Op. 23 by Lowell Liebermann, accompanied by host Christopher O’Riley on the piano. Later in the show, Sir James will join 17-year-old violinist Kenneth Renshaw and 17-year-old violist Arianna Smith to perform the sixth movement of Serenade in D major for Flute, Violin, and Viola, Op. 23 by Ludwig van Beethoven. Michael Feinstein

On April 7, From the Top will tape a radio broadcast during the EG Conference in Monterey, California. Joining Christopher O’Riley and other young performers will be ukelele player Jake Shimabukuro, who recently released an album titled “Peace Love Ukulele.”According to Jake, “if everyone played the ukulele, the world would be a better place.”

Later in April, an episode of From the Top will feature Michael Feinstein, who’s been dubbed “The Ambassador of the Great American Songbook.” This show will be taped on Tuesday, April 26 in Carmel, Indiana and will be open to the public. Tickets and information are available here.
